Since my youth, there were always animals in my life.
At the farm where our family lived, I had a couple of horses, with them I did sports like jumping, dressage and millitary. At that time, there was always a dog as my companion at my side.
Later, when I lived on my own in a smaller house, the horse sport was taking too much time and space, I decided to quit my beloved sport with the horses.
I was looking for a new hobby and thought that a dog for shows would be a great replacement for my horses. I looked around at dogshows for whitch breed to choose.
There it was the american cockerspaniel who took my attention with his great attitude and stunning movement!
Like the most of you, I fell in love with this breed.
The first puppy came to our house in 1995, and with her I had a lot of fun at the dogshows.
We even had some great wins!
Then, I wanted to know what a judge saw in his winning dog, and I went up to do some judgement studies for dogmovement and gait. After that I succesfully did the exams for all this.
Later I did some genetic studies to have some knowledge about the inheritance of particuly parts of the dogs. Unfortunally my first bitches mother was affected with cateracts, by the time she should be bred, so there were never puppys from her.
Maby therefor I am specially very aware of inheritable health problems in our beloved breed, and try to select as careful as possible on the parents of our litters. We try to keep this lovely breed as beautiful and healthy as possible,
Sound in body & mind, without forgetting the cockerspaniel is a sporting dog. Be welcome to take a look around in our website, and when you want to know anything, don’t hesitate to contact us !
Our dogs can run all day in a covered outside run. Pregnant bitches and puppy’s live in our house so the puppy’s are getting socialised.
